Our Product

Our roof and gutter deicing controller is designed to automatically control a single, pre-terminated, roof and gutter heating cable. With the do-it-yourself customer in mind, the controller is easy to install, and with a 1200 Watt capacity, it will satisfy most roof and gutter heat trace cable installations.

Compared to using deicing cable without the controllers, they significantly reduce your electric bill while improving the prevention of ice dams. By providing a clear path for melting water, it keeps roof edges, gutters, and downspouts ice-free.

Our Product Is ETL Listed

What is the difference between UL and ETL? Both marks indicate that a product meets the minimum requirements of widely accepted product safety standards, determined through independent testing by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). So the only real difference between the marks is in the service of the testing laboratories behind them. The only major requirement is that the laboratory performing the testing is an OSHA recognized NRTL.

Consequently, our ETL Listed Mark serves as an indicator of compliance with applicable product safety standard. Major North American retailers including JCPenney, Sears, Costco and Target accept the ETL Listed Mark.

How It Works

The unit will automatically turn on a single, pre-terminated, heating cable up to 1200 watts two conditions are:

  • Cold temperatures (On at 38°F - Off at 48°F) and the presence of runoff water from the roof is in contact with its sensor wire.
  • If only one of the conditions exists, the control will not turn the cable on.
  • This creates the most energy efficient ice dam solution.
